Andreea started her career being the personal assistant of a female director. The director introduced her to the world of film and she became first assistant director quite early and later assistant producer. She did not have professional studies in the field. She had finished Foreign language studies. Andreea is currently in charge of pre-production and is assistant director for two feature films for the moment.
Challenges
Sometimes Andreea felt as if she might not be recognised as the team leader due to the fact that she is a female. A couple of time Andreea felt as if she was approached by males from a different perspective than the professional one.
Overcoming Obstacles
Andreea understood early in her career that she might not have all the knowledge regarding the film industry and that needs to ask for help and to communicate any problems she might encounter so she did and she was always able to find information and support from both men and women professionals in the field

The Case Study Library will highlight the barriers to entry for females in the industry, including deficits in role models, confidence, and career planning.
